The player has some basic experience of padel or another racquet sports, but at beginner level.
If coming from squash, they may have some understanding of the ball bounce against the wall.
If coming from tennis, they may have basic tennis technique on groundstrokes.
Prefers to use FH, and is uncomfortable with BH. The serve is a relatively consistent shot, but the player has no understanding of how to follow it up to the net. Double faults still occur.
Can get the ball in play, but lacks consistency or direction. Understanding of how to use the wall is limited to the back wall, and struggles a lot with the side walls
Has some technical understanding of volleys and can execute FH volleys with some accuracy, but struggles with BH volleys. Has good understanding of how to follow up shots to the net in relation to opponents.
Limited use of overheads (bandeja and smash), with inconsistent outcome and technically poor.
Footwork on FH is relatively consistent when the player has a lot of time, but is inconsistent on all other shots, or when rallies are faster or longer.
Limited understanding of how to work with a partner, mostly out of sync as a pair with no communication between them.
Does not build a point, focused only on keeping the ball into play. Shows very limited understanding of appropriate shot choices in moderate speed rallies. Very limited understanding of tactics, use of the wall, attack vs. defence
