The player has some experience of padel in match play, and/or is an intermediate tennis, squash, or badminton player.
Can apply direction and depth to rallies of moderate pace of 8-10 balls. Consistent on FH, not as consistent on BH. Has an understanding of how to play against the wall, but is not always effective. Can serve consistently, but with no variety.
Can defend using the back wall and one sidewall. Starts to grasp how to use side and back wall if the ball bounces at a relatively comfortable height. Not aware or able to turn at the corner.
Has some technical understanding of volleys and can execute FH volleys with some accuracy, but struggles with BH volleys. Has a good understanding of how to follow up shots to the net in relation to opponents.
Has some understanding of when to use bandeja, though technical execution is inconsistent.
Reluctant to smash or, if coming from tennis, ineffective use of the smash.
Inconsistent footwork during faster rallies. Court movement not fast enough, hence inconsistent or poor response on more difficult shots coming from the opponent.
Still focused on individual play, rather than operating as a pair. Limited communication with the partner, not working as a team yet.
Has basic understanding of attack vs defence. Makes consistently shot selection that allows the player to attack and push the opponents in a defensive position, though the technical execution of some shots maybe inconsistent or not translating into winners.
